(Online) Workshop Overview: Healing After Covert Narcissistic Abuse

A practical, trauma-informed workshop for rebuilding clarity, boundaries, and self-trust.

Who this workshop is for

This workshop is for people who feel emotionally depleted and scrambled after a relationship that looked β€œsubtle” on the surface but left real damage underneathβ€”constant self-doubt, walking on eggshells, guilt, confusion, or a sense that you’re always the one explaining, apologising, and trying harder.

You don’t need to label anyone as a narcissist to benefit; the focus is on your healing, not diagnosing someone else.

What you’ll leave with

By the end of the workshop, participants will have:

  • A clear understanding of common covert manipulation patterns (e.g., guilt, victim-playing, passive aggression, gaslighting, double binds, triangulation).

  • Tools to regulate the nervous system after chronic relational stress.

  • A framework to rebuild self-trust and reduce rumination (β€œWas it me?” loops).

  • Boundary scripts that work when the other person is skilled at turning things around.

  • A personal β€œRecovery Map” for support, practices, and do-not-do pitfalls.

Format at a glance

  • Length: 2-day intensive (6 hours)

  • Delivery: Online (trauma-informed, confidential, opt-in sharing)

  • Teaching style: Psychoeducation + guided exercises + skills practice + reflection

Core themes

  1. Clarity over confusion: identifying tactics without obsessing over labels

  2. Safety over debate: boundaries that don’t require the other person’s agreement

  3. Body + brain healing: trauma responses, nervous system regulation, and self-compassion

  4. Self-trust: rebuilding confidence in your perceptions and choices

  5. Healthy connection: how to relate again without repeating the pattern

Workshop modules (sample agenda)

Module 1 β€” The Covert Pattern: Why It’s So Hard to Name

Focus: The β€œnice on the outside, harmful underneath” dynamic

  • Covert tactics: subtle shaming, martyrdom, blame-shifting, β€œconcern trolling,” silent treatment, plausible deniability

  • Why you feel addicted to explaining: intermittent reinforcement + hope cycles

  • Exercise: β€œConfusion to Clarity” mapping (what happened / what I felt / what I was told it meant)

Module 2 β€” Gaslighting & Self-Doubt: Reclaiming Reality

Focus: trusting your perception again

  • Gaslighting vs. misunderstanding: how to tell the difference

  • The β€œJADE trap” (justify, argue, defend, explain)

  • Exercise: Reality-check journaling + evidence-based self-validation

Module 3 β€” Nervous System Repair: From Hypervigilance to Grounded

Focus: calming the body that’s learned danger in connection

  • Fight/flight/freeze/fawn in covert abuse dynamics

  • Micro-regulation tools (breath, orienting, grounding, tremor release, containment)

  • Practice: 10-minute guided reset + β€œbefore/after” self-scan

Module 4 β€” Boundaries That Hold (Even When They Push Back)

Focus: firm, minimal, non-escalating boundaries

  • Boundary myths: β€œIf I explain better, they’ll understand”

  • Scripts: BIFF responses (Brief, Informative, Friendly, Firm), β€œbroken record,” β€œgrey rock,” selective engagement

  • Practice: role-plays + personal boundary statement design

Module 5 β€” Detaching From the Hook: Guilt, Obligation, and Fear

Focus: the emotional levers that keep you stuck

  • FOG (Fear–Obligation–Guilt) and how it’s installed

  • Reframing guilt: appropriate vs. conditioned guilt

  • Exercise: β€œGuilt Audit” + values-based decision filter

Module 6 β€” Rebuilding You: Identity, Voice, and Healthy Relating

Focus: moving from survival to choice

  • Repairing self-concept after chronic criticism

  • Green flags: what healthy conflict looks like

  • Plan: your Recovery Map (support network, practices, boundaries, no-contact/low-contact parameters if relevant)

Safety + trauma-informed guidelines

  • You control your level of sharing (pass is always allowed).

  • No forced confrontation or β€œwrite a letter to them” exercises unless you choose.

  • Emphasis on stabilization, self-trust, and practical toolsβ€”not pathologising.

  • This workshop is educational and supportive, not a replacement for therapy.

Outcome promise (clear and ethical)

You won’t leave with a perfect explanation for the other person. You’ll leave with something better: clarity, nervous system tools, and a planβ€”so you can stop living in reaction mode and start making choices that protect you.

Note: this is a live online workshop. It will not be recorded therefore no afterplay will be shared. If you cannot attend, the workshop is non-refundable or transferable.

Thank you.
