Memoir:
Write Your Story
Dear Writer —
The power of storytelling, of telling your story, can be to reclaim your creative expression, reveal your authenticity, to heal and make peace with your past, and offer the tremendous gift of closure and beginning again.
The process of writing our own stories helps us to go beyond just re-hashing our experiences and can allow us to creatively and passionately re-vision our lives with passion and meaning.
So, why not...
Feel, heal, and reveal the story that is you.
Give yourself the best possible chance to claim how your story shaped you. Recover who you are beyond narratives of pain. Gain wisdom from your past and create meaning and hope in the present and for your future.
I hope that you’ll join me in expressing the emotional journey of life with words.
Inside the journey —
I created this course to gently support those who feel the pull to write their story—not just the edited or polished parts, but the ones that linger, repeat, and quietly shape who we are. This is a space to bring the whole self into awareness through writing.
Over six months, I’ll guide you through a thoughtful, creatively structured process of memoir writing that encourages clarity, self-compassion, and honest reflection.
Together, we’ll explore how to stay present with personal experience, how to soften around hardened memories, and how to hold both discomfort and beauty in the writing process.
With a blend of memoir craft, group dialogue, and guided prompts, we’ll work toward uncovering your authentic voice—making space for curiosity, emotional processing, and grounded self-expression.
This course is for anyone who’s ready to gently let go of the past, set compassionate boundaries, and move through what's been holding them back.
Whether you're writing for healing, for personal clarity, or to eventually share your story with others, this is a place to begin—or continue—the deeply meaningful work of personal storytelling.
September 1, 2025 to February 28, 2026.
You’ll receive your Welcome email on September 1.
Live Zooms are on noted Sundays from 9-11 EST.
Sales are final.

Workshop Highlights —
Monthly Live Sessions
Each month, I’ll host live writing circles where we’ll check in, write together, and open up to group discussion. These sessions are designed to bring awareness to your process, deepen your connection to your writing, and to be inspired and supported by the group.
Life-Themed Weekly Prompts
Each week, you’ll receive a writing map on a key theme—such as memory, place, nature, resilience, or relationship. These themes serve as anchors for creative exploration and personal reflection.
Personal Feedback
You’ll receive encouraging, constructive feedback from me and from fellow writers. Our focus is on presence, perspective, and emotional integrity and authenticity in your work—not perfection.
Creative & Mindful Practices
We’ll use gentle journaling, mindful awareness, and intuitive writing to help reconnect with parts of the self that may have been lost, overlooked, or forgotten. Each exercise is designed to foster integration and insight.
Community Connection
You’ll be part of a supportive, non-competitive circle of writers who value presence, process, and emotional honesty. Together, we’ll create a shared space for storytelling, witnessing, and mutual encouragement.
Feedback from participants —
“I have taken several of Tanya's writing courses now, and each one has offered a beautiful invitation to delve inward while being held in a safe space. Memoir was so much more than a writing course - it was a sacred community and an unraveling. What keeps me coming back to Tanya's offerings is her ability to awaken my inner muse and offer consistent prompts, while giving grace and meeting me where I'm at. Everything she offers is infused with passion, gentleness, and love.”
"Your personal story inspired me immensely, compelling me to share my own struggles. Your narrative revealed that you, too, are a brave tender of the underworld, well-acquainted with its trials since your arrival on this planet. I am immensely grateful to know you and to have had your guidance."
"Thank you, Tanya. For all the Zooms, all the inspiration and most of all your beautiful words that continue to blow me away! "
"Thank you, Tanya. You were right on time and showed up during a chapter of life when I needed it most. While my writing paused, it's ever-present. Thank you for your encouragement and framing of life as a creative expression awash with growth and healing."
“Tanya, her courses and groups offer what I've been searching my entire life for and never knew-inspiration, gentle encouragement, vulnerability, loving guidance, a sense of belonging, structure without pressure, a breath of fresh air, acceptance, and so much love!”
“Exceptional. Tanya sees the invitation of written words as a portal into the self. She's exceptional at helping navigate a way in and through, so a story can breathe a new life and set its teller free.”
“I do very much appreciate how you are allowing everyone to be where they are and not put pressure on any of us. Your love and compassion for each of us is deeply felt as well as your desire to help us each move forward (at our own pace). And... your writing is absolutely exquisite as well as the care you put into the program. Thank You for sharing yourself with all of us in this way.”
“It´s been wonderful to be a part of the group which you´ve facilitated in a beautiful, honest, and inspiring non-judgemental way.”
“This course has added so much to my everyday life. I'm loving what I reveal about myself on the page and how I'm making connections between past and present. The live Zoom sessions are so rewarding. It’s honestly a bit like therapy!”
“Tanya is an excellent group facilitator. Thank you for this.”
“I can feel Tanya’s support and encouragement. Writing the memoir is a self-guided tour, but I feel directed gently with the Writing Maps, and Tanya’s personal responses to emails are very affirming. I am grateful for this opportunity.”
“Overall, the emails are wonderful and helpful in setting a weekly intention with associated goals. I greatly appreciate the safe space you've provided us to unpack and work through resistance. I also appreciate your unwavering willingness to provide feedback when we feel called to share.”
“I love the time you give us for writing. There is nudging and empathy, not pushing and that’s been everything for me.”
“You create a wonderful, nurturing, safe space to start the memoir writing process. I loved doing this course, and I know I'll be doing other writing groups with you. Thank you so much!”
“I wanted to thank you for giving me the opportunity to participate in the Memoir 2024 group. You and your story, as well as the other Memoirists I met in the Zoom calls, have been so inspiring as I travel on my healing journey. I feel expanded, encouraged, more hopeful, wiser, and excited to explore my inner world and write more.”
“The cave fear you enter holds the treasure you seek.”
~ Joseph Campbell, author of The Hero’s Journey
Ever ask yourself —
Where do I start?
What do I write about?
How do I find my voice?
How do I tell my story?
There is always a place you can go to find the answers to these questions.
Like I love to say:
Learn to tell your story to the most important person in your life: you.
In other words, use all of your life experiences and everything you’ve been through, felt, dreamt of, loved and longed for, been hurt by, and felt - use it all as inspiration to create a healthy relationship with yourself and your life.
Frida Kahlo said, "I paint myself because I am the subject I know best.”
You do know yourself best, even if it doesn’t feel like it all the time. And, if you’re stuck or having trouble getting unstuck or started, write the resistance. Write through the blocks. Write to create a healthy relationship with your life.
So, let’s start with your story and come back to your story.
“Whatever you think you can do or believe you can do, begin it. Action has magic, grace, and power in it.”
~ Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Feel,
heal,
and reveal
the story
that is
you.
The process of writing our own stories helps us to go beyond just re-hashing and can allow us to re-vision our lives.
-
Writing creates an intimate and creative space for exploring and expressing emotions. Whether it's joy, anger, frustration, deep sadness, or excitement, the act of putting emotions into words can be cathartic.
Writing allows you to safely express and examine feelings.
Writing about difficulties and documenting not only fears but also how you've coped can provide a sense of personal growth, and empowerment, and help you navigate both celebratory and tough situations with more self-trust and grace within yourself.
-
Writing serves as a powerful tool for healing by providing a structured outlet for emotional expression, promoting self-reflection and understanding, and offering a creative and constructive way to navigate through life's challenges.
Writing provides a space for individuals to make sense of their experiences. It helps clarify thoughts, identify the root causes of distress, and untangle complex emotions.
Writing can also create a sense of connection, both with oneself and with others. Sharing personal experiences through writing can lead to a feeling of validation and understanding, reducing feelings of isolation, and increasing possibilities for authenticity and inner freedom.
-
Writing often reveals hidden thoughts, desires, and feelings. Through the act of putting pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard), individuals may uncover aspects of themselves that were previously unexplored or not fully understood. It's a process of self-discovery.
The act of writing allows individuals to explore different perspectives on a given situation. It can reveal alternative viewpoints and open the writer's mind to new ways of thinking, fostering personal growth and empathy.
When crafting a story or personal narrative, writing can reveal the progression of events and experiences. It unveils the unfolding of a plot or the development of characters, offering a deeper understanding of the journey.
Writing has the power to unveil authenticity. The genuine voice that emerges on the page, unfiltered and uninhibited, can provide a true reflection of the writer's thoughts and emotions, creating a sense of honesty and vulnerability.
Writing is a revelation - a process through which the invisible thoughts, emotions, and intentions of the mind are made visible on the page, providing an opportunity for self-reflection, understanding, and connection with others.
